Mike Mudge, 'Numbers Count'

I have a degree in Computer Science and Physics. It was intended to be in ‘Mathematics and Computer Science’ but at the end of my first year, I had a ‘borderline pass’ in the Analysis half of my course, run by Mike Mudge, so was ‘advised to continue with the other 2 subjects, NOT maths’. I hardly understood a word he said, so it was surprised a few years later to find him writing a much-loved feature in ‘Personal Computer World’ that was really clear and interesting. He seems to have had a fan club.

This one has code :-/
though that blog has stopped. I’ve just left a message to say that I heard Mike had died. He once gave a memorable lecture when he had laryngitis, using only a blackboard and mime.
