Finding a mentor

Hey all,

Keeping it short and sweet…

  1. What’s the best way to find a mentor?
  2. Do you have a mentor and how did you find them?

I’ve come to the conclusion to just network, reach out, find someone who is where you want to be a few years from now and see if they are a fit and ask if they want to be your mentor.

What do you think? How would you go about finding someone?

Yeah. I think that’s the best approach; it’s necessarily a personal relationship, I think, unless you’re assigned an internal mentor inside a company (which is a different sort of thing).

Thanks @sil
I’ll keep looking around until I find someone.

If you don’t mind it being public, you could make a fresh post on this forum. I imagine you’d need to tell us a bit about your skills, what you want to achieve, and what sort of skills a person would bring to the table that you feel you would benefit from.
