Bad Voltage live stream, the Wellington, 21st Feb

I do a podcast named Bad Voltage about technology with three others. Later on in February, we’re travelling to Los Angeles to record a live show on stage at SCALE 13x. However, for people in the UK, Joe Borg is also organising a get together to watch the live stream, hang out, and have a few drinks… and it’s here in Birmingham! In the Wellington to be exact, on 21st February. See http://www.kryogenix.org/days/2015/02/02/bad-voltage-live-show-at-scale-2015/ for details and links to the Bad Voltage forum where you can find out about it. This could be a chance to meet a bunch of other people and have a laugh

Can you get the podcast added to Stitcher? I’d love to have a listen.

Reading http://www.stitcher.com/content-providers.php suggests that we have to promote Stitcher on air if they ask us to. Which is not gonna happen. So, persuade me that I’m wrong on that and I’ll happily add it.

Alternatively, you can subscribe to Bad Voltage in any podcast app by entering the RSS feed, we’re on iTunes and player.fm, or you can just go to the website and hit play

Yes, annoyingly, Stitcher doesn’t let you do this - but it does let you keep track to what you’ve listened to across multiple devices, which is why I like it.

It looks like player.fm also offers functionality like this, so I’ll give that a whirl.

Oh… turns out I need to punch @sil in his stupid ginger face… something tells me I’m going to enjoy this

Tell your friends.

And hang out with other people and listen to the show live from Los Angeles on the 21st!

Do you know how long the show will be?

I’m thinking that I could come along to the Wellington in the morning for the live stream, then head along to Warwick to look at some old photos once it’s finished.

(PS, who else is going to the live stream?)

I’m not sure the times work out for actual live watching (it’ll start at 6am UK time) but Joe is planning to record the live stream and then watch it that day (he’s still working out the details on this, and I’ll let him know about this thread).

Hi Daniel, I’m Joe!

I’ve booked the Wellington from 11am (I think 6am is a little early). I’m still talking with BV talent to get something organised for the stream, whether that be audio or video. The room I’ve booked has a TV and audio system in, so should be good. We’ve also got a free pass on bringing food in, so can put together some organic platters or balls to that and get pizza.

Should be a laugh! Would be pleasure to see everyone.

All of the above sounds awesome

Do you know roughly how long the show is/how long you’ve got the room for? I’m trying to work out a trip to Warwick directly after, so it would be handy to know if it’s 30 minutes, or 3 hours.

Cheers. :beers:

The show will be somewhere around an hour and a half in length, we think, although that’s subject to having our running order fiddled with for the next week  I don’t know how long @joe has the room for, but I suspect quite a bit longer than that!

Yeah, I’ve got it booked 1100-1500. Hopefully that’s not overkill!

Could be a bit short http://www.thewellingtonrealale.co.uk/pages/beerboard.php

So, I’ve never been into real beer/ale before, but as I’m starting to mature (pfft), I’m wondering if my taste buds might be maturing as well. I discovered this may in fact be the case last Friday night, while at the Lord Clifdon, when I decided to order a cherry ale thing (don’t remember what it was called, but apparently it was the last barrel of it in the country), and discovered that I actually liked it.

So, it’s with this in mind, that I’m somewhat looking forward to trying number 11, Titanic’s Cherry Dark.

I’d never noticed this page before http://www.thewellingtonrealale.co.uk/pages/beersinstock.php

If you’d like to plan ahead. I see a Raspberry Blonde in your future.

Also going to sort lunch out if there are suggestions?

You can now watch the edited live show:
